Need a good night out as winter looms?

Well turn those frowns upside down and join us on SUNDAY 27th MAY at the brand new Court Theatre (end of Bernard Street, off the Hagley Park end of Lincoln Road in Addington).

The Jesters will have you laughing your socks off at the Society's fundraiser night. With raffles, entertainment and plenty of parking you don't want to miss out on all the fun.

DUO, the Society's 50th Anniversary Commemorative Cookbook wull be available from mid 2012.

Special inclusions include NZ's Master Chef Brett McGregor, renowned Chef Jo Seagar, MP Ruth Dyson, More FM's Si and Gary as well as local and extremely popular local establishments Under the Red Veranda, Strawberry Fare, Pegasus Bay Winery.

With the help of it's members, volunteers, local schools and clubs the Society will be collecting on Carnation Day to raise funds for the Society. Thanks to all the dedicated volunteers and supporters over $32,000 was raised in 2011, an incredible amount that has provided much benefit to the Society and it's members.

The Society will be holding a Fundraising Golf Tournament at Pegasus Golf Club on Friday 12th October. A great opportunity for golf enthusiasts, treating clients or getting involved in the 50th Anniversary fun. Pass the information on to your work colleagues, family and friends and get practicing!

The second annual Footloose Fun Walk was full of family fun. Around 90 people participated on Sunday 6 November in North Hagley Park. While some chose to walk 2km, others pushed themselves to complete 5km and still others rounded the park twice for a 10km run. Over $1000 was raised through registration fees and sponsorship.

We would like to thank those who volunteerd their time to help marshal the event and run the sausage sizzle. We would also like to thank: Hoyts, Orana Wildlife Park and Willowbank for providing vouchers as spot prizes, Mitre 10 for supplying the bouncy castle, Coupland's Bakeries for donating bread and especially to Ellesmere Butchery for donating all the food for the sausage sizzle.
